Photo Conversations at Impressions Gallery

Join me and five other early-career photographers for a day of conversation and hear about our experience of making work for the Nationhood: Memory and Hope exhibition.

10.00am to 12.00pm – Portfolio Reviews – Fully booked.

Designed for early career photographers to share their practice and gain feedback from like-minded peers. Six of our currently exhibiting artists will be reviewing work; Chad Alexander, Grace Springer, Haneen Hadiy, Miriam Ali, Roz Doherty and Shaun Connell.
On the day you will have the opportunity to meet with two reviewers*, with 20 minutes allocated for each session.
It is recommended that you bring along one body of work and thinking in advance about any aspects that you’d like advice on. For more information about what to expect at the event and how to prepare for your sessions, download this helpful guide.

1.30pm to 3.30pm – Nationhood: Artists In Conversation
Gain an insight into the work and practice of six artists from across the UK’s four nations, as featured in our current exhibition Nationhood: Memory and Hope.
Chad Alexander, Grace Springer, Haneen Hadiy, Miriam Ali, Roz Doherty and Shaun Connell will share their experiences of creating work for a time-limited project, collaborating with galleries, and the challenges and opportunities of being an early career photographer. This insightful open table will be chaired by Anne McNeill, Curator and Director of Impressions Gallery. Followed by a Q&A.

4.00pm to 4.30pm – Photo Social
Round up the day with a drink and join fellow photographers to celebrate and continue the conversations. A great chance to network with like-minded others.
No booking required, drop in.
*Upon booking for a portfolio review you will be allocated a place including two 20-minute sessions with two different reviewers. Impressions Gallery will send you an email within 5 working days to confirm the times of your sessions.
